I recommend printing page 1 first and making sure your 1 inch test square measures 1"x1" once printed. That will mean the pattern will be perfectly to scale for you. 

Print settings will need to be set to "actual size". If you scale the print in any way, the pattern won't be the correct size. (there are also instructions on page 1 of the pdf).
